The 12 best AI events in London this spring (2026)
Kate Fletcher ranks the 12 London AI events actually worth a Tuesday this spring — research talks, founder dinners, hack nights, no LinkedIn-summit fluff.
Spring in London is genuinely the best time for AI events. The post-Christmas lull is over, the conference circuit hasn't collapsed into July yet, and the calendar is dense enough that you can find something properly worth going to most weeks. Here's the twelve I'd actually put a Tuesday aside for.
If you want a single live calendar of these, the AI events London page does the aggregation work.
The weekly pillars
AI Tuesdays London is the spine of the scene. Free, weekly-ish, deliberately mixed crowd of engineers, PMs, founders, and the occasional curious investor. Talks are five to fifteen minutes and the bar opens before the talks start, which tells you everything about the format. Apply on their Luma — no one gets rejected if they sound real.
AI Tinkerers London is the technical sibling. Builders only, no slide decks longer than five minutes, show-and-tell format. If you're shipping something with an OpenAI or Anthropic model in production, this is your room. The technical bar is the highest in town — there's no hand-waving past the engineering.
The demo and showcase nights
AI House Demo Nights in King's Cross run loosely tied to the AI House crowd that orbits the Anthropic London office and the DeepMind crew up the road. Founders demo what they shipped that week. Less polished than YC demo day, more honest.
EF AI showcase nights are around the Entrepreneur First cohort cycles. The pre-cohort and post-cohort ones are public. The mid-cohort ones are invite-only but the post-cohort showcases are where you actually meet the founders before they raise.
The research-heavy options
UCL AI Centre seminars are open to the public and proper research-grade. If you can stomach a 45-minute paper walkthrough, it's the highest-density learning hour in London. The Bloomsbury location is also sound.
Imperial AI Society talks are student-run but the speakers they pull in are senior — DeepMind alumni, Meta researchers, the occasional Anthropic engineer. Free, public, properly substantive. Definately worth a Wednesday evening.
London ML Reading Group is the smallest of the research formats. Paper-discussion rather than talk-format, deeper conversation, smaller crowd. PhDs and senior engineers. Apply through their mailing list — they like to keep numbers manageable.
The dinners and salons
London AI Founders Dinner (in the Newcomer style — small, curated, no press) is application-only and the room is genuinely the people building AI companies in London right now. Don't apply with a generic blurb. Two sentences about what you actually ship is enough.
AI Salon London is dinner-format, mixed founder/researcher crowd, conversational rather than presentation. Apply early because the seats are limited. The food is alot better than the typical meetup pizza.
The practitioner track
PyData London (AI track) has gotten serious over the past two years. Practical engineering rather than research papers — productionising LLMs, eval pipelines, RAG that doesn't fall over. £10-ish to keep numbers honest.
Newton Venture / Latent Space London is AI-podcast-adjacent. The line-up of speakers shipping production AI systems is strong. Less hype than the typical Demo-Day-flavoured event, more "here's what we did and why."
The paid one
O'Reilly AI Engineer London is the only paid event on this list. Worth the ticket if you're doing serious LLM engineering work — talks are practitioner-led, the workshops are genuine teaching not sales pitches. Pricey but defensible if you're billing it to a company budget.
How to actually work the spring AI calendar
A few ground rules:
- Pick three regular ones, not twelve. The "go to everything" approach burns you out by May. The right move is two regular meetups and one dinner per month.
- Show up early and leave on time. The first hour is the conversation hour at all of these. The talks are honestly secondary.
- Don't pitch in the first thirty seconds. The London AI scene is small enough that the "what do you do" lead-in marks you as new and slightly desperate. Ask what someone's working on, listen, follow up.
- Bring something to show. The AI Tinkerers and AI House crowds especially. A laptop with a working demo beats a slide deck every time.
What I've left off
A handful of "AI summit" branded events in central London that are actually thinly-veiled enterprise sales conferences. If the speakers list is 80% Director-of-Innovation-at-Tier-2-Bank, skip it. The London AI scene that matters happens at the twelve above plus a constellation of smaller invite-only dinners that you find by going to the public ones first.
For the full live calendar, AI events London is the cleanest aggregation. The spring 2026 calendar is dense — pick well.

FAQ
- Are these all free?
- Most are free with an application, a few are £10-30 to keep numbers manageable. None require a £500 conference badge.
