The 10 best Friday-night clubs in Berlin in 2026
Marco Conti ranks the ten Berlin clubs actually worth your Friday in 2026 — Berghain, Watergate, Tresor, Sisyphos, KitKat, RSO, Renate, ://about blank, Wilde Renate and Säule.
Berlin on a Friday is its own organism. The city wakes up at 11pm, the queues form, the U-Bahn changes character, and by 2am you've either chosen well or you're stuck in a room you don't want to be in. Below are the ten clubs I'd point a friend at this year, ranked roughly by what most Fridays of the year are worth.
The top of the ranking
Berghain is one because it remains, after all the discourse, the standard. Klubnacht starts Friday, the main floor on a Friday night is the krass entry point to the weekend, and the door is the door — no phones, black, alone, polite, accept the coin flip. If you don't get in, that's fine, the rest of this list is the rest of this list for a reason.
Watergate is two because the door is friendlier, the river views from the upstairs floor are genuinely worth the price of entry, and the Friday booking is consistently the best of the mid-tier big-rooms. If Berghain is "the institution", Watergate is "the Friday I had a great time and remember it".
Sisyphos in summer is a different animal — outdoor sprawl, multiple stages, the queue is part of the experience. The garden in particular is mega and the 4am drop in temperature is real. Friday is when the international queue is shortest.
The serious techno
Tresor is the institution that predates most of the others. Globus is the krass floor, the basement is the pure floor, the door is more forgiving than reputation suggests. The bookings remain serious in 2026 — they haven't lost the plot the way some of their peers did during the pandemic.
RSO is the newer big-room option in Schöneweide and the sound system is genuinly the best in the city. The bookings have caught up to the room over the last twelve months and the Friday programme is now consistently strong.
The looser, friendlier rooms
Wilde Renate is the multi-room labyrinth — house, disco, techno, a different room every floor, Halloween closes the year and you should aim to attend it once. The door is friendlier than the big-names and the crowd is mixed in the best way.
KitKat is what KitKat is. The dress code is the dress code. The thing nobody acknowledges is that the music — particularly on the techno floors — is better than the reputation suggests. Friday is genuinely a strong night for it.
The smaller, sharper picks
://about blank is politically left, musically broad, and the garden in summer is one of the best outdoor club spaces in Berlin. Smaller capacity, better sound, the kind of room you remember.
Renate (close cousin to Wilde) has a looser door, smaller rooms and a layout that turns losing your friends into a feature rather than a bug. Reliable Friday booking, less of a queue.
Säule is technically inside Berghain but works as a Friday destination on its own — ambient, slower, the kind of room where the best three hours of your weekend can happen by accident. Use it as the warm-down or the warm-up.
What I've left off
A few of the recently-opened bigger rooms haven't earned their place yet — fine venues, not destinations. Same with two of the chain-style operations that have crept in over the last two years. The ten above are what I'd choose between on any Friday in 2026.
How to use this list
Pick one. Commit. Don't try to do two big-rooms in a night, you'll loose the night. The U-Bahn helps but the queues do not. If your first choice doesn't work out, the second on the list above is the move — the door at Watergate is the easiest of the top three, and Sisyphos in summer is the most forgiving of all. For the actual line-ups any given Friday, the Berlin nightlife events page pulls the bookings into one filter — useful for picking which of these ten to commit to before you queue.
In summary
Berghain if you want the standard. Watergate if you want the river. Sisyphos if you want outside. Tresor if you want the history. RSO if you want the sound system. The other five if you want the looser version. Pick one, get there before 1, accept the queue, dance.
