The 12 best networking events for London tech founders in 2026
Kate Fletcher ranks the actually-useful networking events for London tech founders in 2026 — from EF Demo Days to AI Tuesdays to the unofficial Soho House founder breakfasts.
Right. London tech founder networking, 2026. The brief: which events are actually useful for raising, hiring, finding co-founders, finding customers, or just the unglamourous bit of feeling less alone. I've been around the London scene for a while and the honest list is shorter than people pretend.
The single most important rule: the best networking events for founders are recurring, free or cheap, and dominated by other founders rather than service providers. The £400-a-ticket "exclusive C-suite" events you get spammed about on LinkedIn are mostly consultants looking for leads. Skip those, do the free monthly ones twice each, decide what works.
The recurring-weekly tier (this is where the work happens)
AI Tuesdays London is the single most consistent founder room in the city right now. It moves between venues — sometimes the Anthropic London office, sometimes Founders Factory, sometimes Sifted's space — and the attendance is properly mixed: seed-stage AI founders, some Series A people, occasional VCs, plus the engineering-leadership tier from the bigger labs. If you go three weeks in a row you'll meet the entire London AI seed scene. Free.
London AI Hackathons are the unofficial founder vetting ground. Once a month, mixed quality, but the format does the work — you sit next to a stranger for 24 hours and find out if you can build with them. Half the AI startups founded in London in 2025 had a hackathon as the first meeting. Worth doing one a quarter even if you're not actively co-founder hunting.
The quarterly / monthly serious tier
Founders Forum NextGen is the more accessible Founders Forum format — you don't need a £100m exit, you just need to be building a real thing. Monthly dinners in central London, well-curated, free dinner included, properly useful for the late-seed-to-A founders. Application-based.
Notion Capital Founders Breakfast runs once a month, small format (40-60 people), Series A and post-seed founders mostly. Hosted at the Notion Capital office in Soho. Quiet, low key, the kind of event where you actually catch up with people you've been meaning to email for six months.
Octopus Ventures Founders Drinks quarterly in the West End is the best Series A-to-B mixer in London. Octopus does it properly — invitations, decent food, founder-to-VC ratio is right. Worth getting on the list.
The annual sandbox tier
EF Demo Day is, in raw founder density, the best event in Europe. Hard to get into unless you're an EF alum, an investor in EF companies, or sufficiently in the network. Worth the gymnastics. The satellite events around it (the EF cohort dinners, the warm-up parties) are nearly as good and easier to crash.
Sifted Summit at Tobacco Dock is the London tech press's annual product. £600 is steep but the hallway track is what you're paying for, not the panels — those are mostly the same panels as last year. Worth it once if you're actively raising or actively hiring; not worth it as a default annual purchase.
Tech Open Air London is the franchised version of Berlin's TOA and it's settled into a properly attended London format. The AI track is genuinly the strongest of any London tech conference in 2026, and the side parties are where the actual networking happens.
The community tier
Silicon Roundabout Open Houses are founder-hosted office crawls — companies open their doors for an evening, people drink, conversations happen. The format is right for pre-seed and seed founders looking for co-workers, future hires, or just other founders to commiserate with. Free.
YC London Meetup is for YC alumni, near-misses (got to interviews and didn't get in), and active applicants. Smaller crowd than the YC Bay Area meetups but the signal is high. Hosted at a different founder's office each month.
Female Founders London is the best of the gender-specific events by quite a margin. Recurring monthly, mixed-stage, lower-key energy than the bro-y mainstream events. The repeat attendance is the signal.
London Bitcoin & Crypto Founders is niche and ferociously well-attended by the people who care about that. If you're building anything tokenised, on-chain or stablecoin-adjacent, this is the room. If not, skip.
What I haven't put on the list
Linkedin "thought leadership" events — pure cringe. Anything with "C-suite" in the title — almost always consultants. The London Tech Week umbrella events — too big, too unfocused, too many people trying to sell you SaaS. Slush London — every-other-year and inconsistent. WeWork member events — basically extinct since the unwind.
The "founder breakfast at Soho House" thing exists informally but it's genuinly informal — there's no schedule, you have to be invited. Don't plan around it.
How I'd actually plan a quarter
Pick two recurring weekly/monthly events you'll attend every time (e.g. AI Tuesdays + Notion Breakfast). Add one annual flagship (EF Demo Day or Sifted Summit). Add one wildcard a month (a hackathon, an Octopus Drinks, a TOA satellite). That's eight events a month, four of which are the same recurring ones — which is the point. Recurring beats one-off every time for actual relationships.
For finding the recurring ones plus the satellite events, startup events London is properly useful and lets you filter by stage. The good ones don't market themselves much, you have to know what to look for.
What founders consistently get wrong
Showing up once and complaining nothing happened. The networking equivalent of going to the gym once and being annoyed you're not fitter. Recurring is the thing. Same room, six weeks running, you'll know everyone by name and they'll know you. That's the whole game.
Also: don't pitch in the first conversation. Almost everyone in this room has been pitched twice already this week. Be a person, ask a question, swap notes on a problem. The pitching opportunity comes around. It always comes around.
You'll be fine, mostly.

FAQ
- Which event has the highest density of seed-stage founders?
- EF Demo Day and the related EF satellite events. After that, the Sifted parties around earnings season and AI Tuesdays at the Anthropic London office.
- Which has the most VCs?
- Founders Forum events, the Sifted Summit, and the Hoxton-area drink-ups around big fundraise announcements.
- Are paid networking events worth it?
- Mostly no. The signal is in the free-to-low-cost recurring meetups where founders actually go to meet other founders, not the £400 corporate ones where consultants go to find leads.
