The 8 best techno nights in London in 2026

Tom Bradley ranks the 8 London techno nights actually worth the bag check in 2026 — fabric, FOLD, Phonox, the Cause and the rest, sorted by where the bookings have stayed sharp.

Tom BradleyTom Bradley·29 March 2026·3 min read·London

London techno in 2026 is healthier than people think. The Cause moved sites and got better. FOLD has properly cemented itself as the best soundsystem in the city. Phonox' new residencies are landing. Even fabric, which everyone's been saying is washed for ten years, has a Friday programme that holds up. Here's the eight nights I'd actually go to, ranked.

The top of the table

FOLD in Canning Town is one and it's not really a contest. Riverside warehouse, soundsystem that the rest of London is chasing, programmers who book DJs you actually want to hear rather than the ones with the biggest agency. The all-night Sundays are the best parties in London full stop — start at 11pm, finish noon Monday, by 6am you're properly into it. The bag check is real, leave the chemistry set at home.

fabric room one stays at two because Friday programming has stayed sharp through 2025 and into this year. The bodysonic floor still hits in a way nothing else in London does. Saturday is hit-or-miss but a Friday techno booking in room one is still the most reliable big-room experience in the city. Get there before midnight or you're queueing til 1am.

Phonox in Brixton sits at three on consistency alone. Saturday residencies have been the model that everyone else copies. The post-HAAi era was meant to be a dropoff and it hasn't been — current resident's programme is sharp, the room is the right size, the lights work.

The middle of the pack

The Cause has moved venues again and the new Tottenham site is actually better than the Ashburton one was. Sound's sharper, the layout makes sense, and the outdoor smoking area is the saviour of any 4am set. Lineups have stayed within the orbit of UK techno and the bookers haven't cracked.

XOYO is what you make of it. The quarterly residency model means quality fluctuates wildly — when they've booked someone interesting it's great; when they're running a generic month it's generic. Always check the lineup before committing.

E1 in Wapping is the big-room option for when you want to do longer-form sets and bigger headliners. Sound has been upgraded since 2024 which it badly needed, and the warehouse format suits the longer bookings. Get there early.

The smaller-but-essential

Corsica Studios is the independent two-room veteran in Elephant & Castle. The smaller of the two rooms is where the better sets are most weeks — bookers with proper taste, not flashy lineups. Five Miles in Tottenham is the sleeper pick — single room, tight programming, and the Sunday day parties are genuinly the best lowkey nights going in London right now.

What I've left off

I've not put Printworks here because it's gone. I've not put any of the big-club Saturday nights at the obvious West End spots because they're not techno, they're tech-house, and you definately know the difference. I've also left off most of the rotating one-off warehouse parties because half of them get pulled and the other half oversell. If you want those, follow the promoters not the venues.

How to actually do a night

A bit of practical stuff that should be obvious but isn't:

  • Get tickets in advance. Walk-up at FOLD, fabric, the Cause is fine but the door queues are punishing on busy weeks.
  • Eat properly before. Most of these places have nothing more than a vending machine. Eat at 8, you'll thank yourself at 4am.
  • Check the closing time before you commit to the after. FOLD Sunday goes til noon, fabric Friday goes til 6, the Cause until 7. Don't arrive at midnight if it's a 4am close.
  • Bag policy is real now. Most of these venues will check properly. Don't be the person holding up the queue.

For everything actually on this weekend, the London nightlife answers page pulls all eight venues plus the rotating one-offs into a single feed. Saves you doom-scrolling RA.

On the longer arc

The London club scene has lost more rooms than it's gained this decade. Printworks, Studio Spaces, Crucifix Lane, half a dozen smaller spots. But the eight venues above have all either survived or upgraded, and the bookings have, on the whole, stayed sharper than the headlines suggest. Go to one of them this month. You'll have a better time than the people moaning that London's scene is dead.

  1. 1

    FOLD

    Canning Town · ££ · book ahead

The best soundsystem in London, no contest. Bookings stay obscure-and-good. The all-nighter Sundays are the move.

  2. 2

    fabric room one

    Farringdon · ££–£££ · book

Friday nights especially. The bodysonic floor still hits. Get there before midnight or queue forever.

  3. 3

    Phonox

    Brixton · ££ · book

Saturday residencies have been the most consistent in London for years. HAAi era set the bar, the new bookings are holding it.

  4. 4

    The Cause

    Tottenham · ££ · book

After the Ashburton site, the new venue's sound is sharper. Outdoor smoking area saved many a 4am.

  5. 5

    XOYO

    Old Street · ££ · book

Quarterly residencies remain how this place works. Good when good, average when not — check the line-up before committing.

  6. 6

    E1

    Wapping · ££ · book

The big-room option. Long sets, bigger names, sound system has been upgraded. Get there early or queue.

  7. 7

    Corsica Studios

    Elephant & Castle · ££ · book

Two-room independent that punches above its weight. The smaller room is where the better sets are.

  8. 8

    Tottenham · ££ · book

Slightly under-the-radar Tottenham spot, single room, sharp bookings. The Sunday day parties are the lowkey best in town.
